Hyderabad: Woman loses phone, ends life
A case of suspicious death was registered and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
Hyderabad: Depressed at her mother scolding her for losing her mobile phone, a 28-year-old beautician allegedly committed suicide in Jahanuma. Police said the beautician, Sultana Begum, hanged herself at home on Wednesday night.
Sultana Begum, a resident of Jahanuma, was working as a beautician at a beauty parlour in Shalibanda. After the death of her father a few years ago, she was staying with her mother Zuubiyana Begum.
Sultana purchased a new mobile phone a month ago and she lost it on Wednesday. Coming to know that Sultana had lost her phone her mother scolded her for being careless.
On Wednesday night, when there was a power outage due to the heavy rain, both of them sat outside their house for a while. After sometime, Sultana went in as her mother sat outside.
“When the mother went in after power supply came back she found Sultana hanging on a ceiling fan with her chunni,” Falaknuma inspector K.M. Kiran Kumar said. A case of suspicious death was registered and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Police is investigating the case.
