Hyderabad: Cyberabad police solved a vehicle theft and arrested a four-member gang in Rajendranagar on Friday with the help of CCTV cameras.
The suspects were identified as N. Karthik, Junaid Moosa Khan, Shaikh Abdul Rehman and Sheikh Amer Siddiqui.
Rajendranagar ACP K. Ganga Reddy said the victim Ramraj Mohan Raj, a resident of Upparpally, had a mini pick-up van. On Wednesday, he parked his vehicle near his residence and left for Bengaluru to attend the wedding of his relative.
When he returned to Hyderabad he found the vehicle missing from the place where he had parked it.
Based on his complaint police registered a vehicle theft case and started an inquiry.
On analyzing CCTV cameras in the surroundings, police found that the suspects came to the scene of offence on bikes and used a false key to unlock the vehicle and drove away.
Based on clues from the CCTV and other clues, police identified the suspects and on a tip-off, they were apprehended from Chandrayangutta.
“On questioning they confessed to committing the offence. We have seized the stolen vehicle and the two bikes which they used for committing the offence,” the ACP said. The suspects were produced in court remanded.
