Peddapalli: In a bizarre incident, a 26-year-old youth ended his life by hanging at his home, worried over likely arrest by the police. The incident occurred at Market street in Manthani town on Thursday.

Police said they had visited the house of Masaraveni Sampath, who was working as a driver, for an inquiry. A general store owner Basani Ramesh had lodged a theft complaint at the police station against Sampath a day ago.

When the cops visited the house, Sampath was away. After collecting the details from his parents, they left the place but asked the family to hand over Sampath to the police station for a detailed inquiry.

When he returned home, Sampath got worried about his arrest. He ended his life by hanging himself from the house ceiling when his parents were away, as per the police version.

Sampath’s parents Sarakka and Rajalingu alleged that Ramesh had lodged a false case against their son.
