13 mobile phones stolen from IPL spectators returning home from Uppal stadium
Hyderabad: Thirteen mobile phones of cricket fans who were returning home after watching the IPL match at Uppal stadium were stolen.
The incident occurred on late Thursday night when the spectators were buying tickets at the busy ticket counter at the metro station.
“I purchased a ticket to Tarnaka metro station. As I inserted the coin at the security barricade, I observed that my mobile kept in the left pocket of my trouser was stolen. I asked my friend but he said that he didn’t see anyone,” said Karnala Divyanshu (24) a degree first-year student, resident of Chilkalguda said.
“I immediately alerted the security but due to the heavy crowd, they could not cooperate. Meanwhile, 13 other spectators including a policeman also reported that their mobiles were stolen,” Deyanshu said.
“I dialled 100 Uppal Police Rakshak. Cops detained a minor for questioning,” Deyanshu added.
