Hyderabad: Man forces girls into flesh trade, booked

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police commissioner invoked PD (Preventive Detention) Act against a human trafficker for prostitution by bringing in girls from various cities to Hyderabad, on Thursday by the Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.

Pradeep Sarkar, 42, a prostitution organiser brought in girls from Kolkata, Kolhapur and Solapur under the guise of providing them jobs and kept them confined in a room in Neredmet. 

Pradeep hails from West Bengal and came to the city 12 years ago with his wife and children. He started a clothes shop during which he met one Malik and decided to get into prostitution. He would rent out spaces by tricking flat owners into believing that he would stay with his family but housed the girls he trafficked.

He charged Rs 1,000 from each customer and gave only Rs 500 to the girls. 

He was arrested by the officials on June 25 and a case is registered  at the Neredmet police station against Pradeep and Malik under sections of IPC and PITA act (Immoral Traffic Prevention Act) for illegally transporting, detaining and trafficking of girls. 

Pradeep has been sent to Cherlapally Central Prison.
