BENGALURU: The Kengeri police on Wednesday arrested five more people for rioting, threatening and vandalising the property of Infosys on September 12, the day of violence over the Cauvery water row in Bengaluru.

The arrested are Venkatesh (46), Puttaswamy (24), Chethan (22) and Rakesh (19), all residents of Nayandanahalli, and Basavaraju (40), a resident of Munseshwara Nagar.

In a complaint, regional manager of Infosys, Balakrishna, had stated, “On September 12, around 7 pm, employees of Infosys who were heading towards their houses in around 10 buses, were stopped by around 200 protesters and were asked to get down of the bus.

The protesters threatened to raise slogans and or else they would pelt stones on the vehicles and tried to kill the employees. Two women employees were injured and the employees were forced to walk to their residences."
