Malappuram: Husband, in-law arrested for Jaseela suicide

The autopsy report confirmed that Jaseela had immolated herself using kerosene.

Malappuram: The husband and mother-in-law of P. Jaseela, 27, who committed suicide  after killing her twin children at Kuttippuram on September 26, were arrested on Tuesday on the basis of a complaint filed by Jaseela’s parents. Fasal Rahman, 37, her husband,  and Seenath, 55, his mother,  were charged with domestic violence and abetment of suicide  by the investigation officer and Valancheri CI K.M. Sulaiman. According to the police, Jaseela and Seenath were not on good terms for the last few months and had quarrelled several times. The mediators’ efforts to resolve the family issue had failed, the complaint said.  

Jaseela was found dead with burn injuries in the latrine outside the house of her husband and the bodies of her twin kids, Fathima Farsana and Muhammed Farhan, aged one-and-a-half-years, were  found in the bedroom. The  kids were strangled. It was Fasal, a taxi driver, who first saw  the bodies   early in the morning when he was about to leave home for a trip. He had slept in another room. The autopsy report confirmed that Jaseela  had immolated herself using kerosene.
