HYDERABAD: The Rein Bazaar police on Thursday arrested a car driver, Ali Khan Mohammed Javed alias Javed, of Malkajgiri on charges of killing his seven-year- old cousin due to a family dispute on the first day of Muharram.

Javed, 40, had taken the boy to a graveyard and killed him by hitting with a stone.

The police said that Javed, who is son-in-law of Mir Qamar, had a dispute over the succession of the alambardar. “Javed’s son, aged two, had died and he believed that the boy was murdered by Mir Qamar. To avenge the killing of his son, Javed murdered Hasan,” the official said.
