KAKINADA: West Godavari superintendent of police Rahul Dev Sarma cautioned job seekers who want to go to Gulf countries to get employment, not to be trapped by fake agents as many agents were only obtaining ‘tourist visas or visit visas’ and leaving them in those countries.

Sarma convened a meeting with the families of victims who were held up in Gulf countries in Bhimavaram on Tuesday. He said some agents were creating illusions among people that Gulf countries were very rich and there were more job opportunities and luring people.

He exhorted people that they should verify whether they got a permanent Visa or a tourist visa. Unless they got a work visa, they would get into trouble in those countries. He advised the people to obtain information about the countries through external ministry and also to approach the police. If they had any doubts about the credentials of agents, they should inform the nearby police station and clear their doubts. He said they should be aware of laws in those countries. They could seek help from police in such matters, he added.
