Hyderabad: 18-Year-Old Girl Injured in Acid Attack, Suspect on the Run

 Hyderabad: An 18-year-old, R. Naveen Reddy, attacked an 18-year-old girl with acid in full public view near a bus stop at Kowkoor, Bolaram police said on Saturday. The girl suffered burns on her eyes and face and was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to a hospital at Banjara Hills for better treatment.

Bolaram police registered a case against Naveen Reddy and launched a hunt to nab him.

According to the police, the girl was waiting at a bus stop when the accused approached her and picked up an argument over his marriage proposal.

When she maintained that she was not interested, he snatched her mobile and threw it on the road, assaulted her, he threw acid on her face and sped away. The victim was under observation in the hospital and out of danger, police said.
