THRISSUR: Wadakkanchery MLA Anil Akkara and dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi  have offered to help the alleged rape victim of Wadakkancherry to take care of her two children. This follows a case registered  by the  Thrissur Medical College police against the  victim based on a  complaint filed by her in-laws that she was not  looking after  her children. Due to family issues, the two children were staying with her in-laws at Athani here for several months now. The victim along with her husband are staying in Kochi. Mr Akkara told DC that Ms Bhagyalakshmi and he had  discussed all possible assistance to the woman  in the legal matters and in the case of her children.

It is learnt that  the children were not willing to stay with their parents and preferred to be with the in-laws.  “The victim wanted to take her children along with her, but considering their schooling they were left with the in-laws. She will soon move the family court for  the custody of the children.  If the children have any issues in staying with their parents, the court will decide on that,” Mr Akkara added. He denied the allegation of the in-laws that their daughter in-law was not properly taking care of the children.
