Speeding vehicle kills old woman

Hyderabad: A 69-year-old woman was killed at Saifabad by an unknown vehicle which mowed her down. The public found the seriously injured pedestrian on the road after the mishap.

V. Rukkamma, a resident of Chaderghat, was waiting for a bus at Lakadikapul to go home after collecting her old age pension. “We suspect that an autorickshaw hit her. The driver escaped with the vehicle. We are checking CCTV footage,” said a police officer from Saifabad.

The victim suffered a serious injury on her head and multiple fractures. “She died on the spot,” a police official said. The police booked a case and has started a search for the driver.
