House ransacked in Balapur, Rs 4.5 lakh worth gold stolen

The police said that the suspects could have entered the house through the back door.

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons targeted a locked house in Balapur and decamped 16 tola gold on Friday night. The victim, Mohammed Majeed, along with his family had gone out to attend a function when the incident happened. 

The police said that the suspects could have entered the house through the back door.

According to the police, Majeed, a businessman, stays in Bavazir Colony in Kothapet. On Friday around 7 pm, he along with the family went to attend a relative’s wedding. 

After the function, when he returned home at around 11.30 pm, he found the house ransacked and gold jewellery weighing 16 tolas worth Rs 4.5 lakh stolen. 

The police said that petty offenders were involved in the theft. “There is a construction work behind the house. The suspects could have entered the house through the construction site,” said an official from the Balapur police station.
