Benglaru: Waiter murders colleague over sharing of tips

Bengaluru: A hotel employee was allegedly crushed to death with a grinding stone in his sleep by his colleague on West of Chord Road on Sunday. The tiff was over a trivial issue of sharing tips.

The deceased, Nagaraj, (45), a resident of Nelamangala, was sleeping at the hotel after consuming alcohol as it was a holiday.

The suspect, Veeresh, from Gangavathi who had been working in the hotel for the last three months, crushed Nagraj's head with the grinding stone and fled. Inquiries revealed that the duo had a fight over sharing of tips and his could be the reason behind the murder, the police said.

The hotel owner returned around 7 pm, saw Nagaraj lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. The Kamakshipalya police have taken up a murder case and are on the lookout for the Veeresh.
