Police arrest prime suspect in murder case of vendor

The prime suspect, Diwan, an auto rickshaw driver who was said to be in a relationship with Amutha and plotted the murder went underground.

Chennai: Six months after a man was murdered near Avadi, police have arrested the prime suspect in connection with the case. Sundaram (35), a flower vendor, was murdered in September last year and his body was buried inside his house. Police had arrested his wife, Amutha (28) and two others in connection with the murder few days after the murder. 

However, the prime suspect, Diwan, an auto rickshaw driver who was said to be in a relationship with Amutha and plotted the murder went underground. 

Meanwhile, police got a tip off that Diwan was working as a parotta master near Tiruvannamalai district. He was apprehended by a special team on Monday when he reached the city. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
