Preethi case: Cops seek extended custody of Saif
WARANGAL: Police presented Dr Mohammed Saif of the Kakatiya Medical College, arrested in connection with the death of Dr D. Preethi, at a court here to seek extended custody of the accused. The court postponed the hearing of the petition to Tuesday.
The police were given custody of Dr Saif from March 2 to 5, following which they wanted the custody extended as they were yet to make a breakthrough in the case.
While transporting Saif to court on Monday, the police deployed three vehicles. Two vehicles entered the court premises through the main gate and the vehicle ferrying Saif entered the court from the back gate, as the police sought to evade media persons. After the hearing, Saif was shifted to Khammam jail with a police escort.
