Police opens 100 fresh rowdy-sheets
As many as 22 suspect sheets were also opened on property offenders.
Hyderabad: The south zone police has opened around 100 fresh rowdy-sheets on goons. As many as 22 suspect sheets were also opened on property offenders. The police has prepared a list of repeat offenders and the frequency of their offences in the last two years. Police officials said that paedophiles and murder suspects are among the new people in rowdy-sheets.
"The updating of sheets against criminals is a key function in controlling crime. We have opened sheets against persons who actively engaged in murders, attempts to murder, crimes against women and children and illegal financing," said south zone DCP V. Sathyanarayana. One of the new rowdy-sheeters is Syed Dasthagir, 25, a paedophile, who killed a 12-year-old girl after raping her. “In August, 2015, Dastagir kidnapped and raped a 12-year-old girl at an under construction house at Aman Nagar. He threw her body into a sump and escaped. Police arrested him with the help of CCTV camera footages,” said an official.
Cops said that more rowdy-sheets will be opened in south zone. “We are processing all existing cases. 100 more sheets will be opened soon,” said DCP Satya-narayana. Earlier, the police had closed many rowdy-sheets of criminals who had become inactive and ill.
