DHARMAPURI: The district police have nabbed one person and on the lookout for others including a woman who daringly robbed 4-kg of gold from two persons in the jewellery business in Dharmapuri.

Around 10.30 pm on Sunday, the 35-year-old jewellery shop owner Gopi, and his 37-year-old business partner Sivakumar were stopped by a mob when the duo was heading towards their house in Duraisamy Naidu street in Dharmapuri.

Later, the miscreants sprayed chilli powder on their faces and grabbed the bag from them containing 4-kg of gold worth Rs 1 crore and cash more than Rs 2 lakh.

Onlookers, outraged by the incident, chased the thieves and nabbed one person but others including a woman managed to escape. He was identified as Stalin of Dharmapuri. The Dharmapuri town police have registered a case and have mounted a search for the other miscreants.
