HYDERABAD: Swift action by Ghatkesar police special teams led to the rescue of a four-year-old girl and the arrest of her kidnapper within 12 hours of receiving the compliant. The victim K. Krishnaveni was kidnapped at 8 pm on Wednesday while playing before her house in Ghatkesar.

She was rescued at the Secunderabad station early on Thursday by special teams of Rachakonda police, who tracked notorious kidnapper Suresh to platform number 1.

After Krishnveni’s parents lodged a missing complaint at 9 pm on Wednesday, Ghatkesar police formed special teams and examined technical evidence. They found him at the station, muffling the girl’s cries and waiting for a train. Suresh previously was involved in another kidnap case, police sources disclosed.

The accused was taken to the station along with the baby. After that, the child's parents were informed. They were handed over Krishnaveni, said D.S. Chauhan Rachakonda police commissioner.
