Heera partners in row once again in trouble with a fresh dispute and a police case
It is not yet clear if the gold was smuggled into the country illegally or was imported through legal means.
Hyderabad: The Heera Group is once again in trouble with a fresh dispute arising between the partners and a police case.
Company CEO Dr Shaik Nowhera has approached the Golconda police alleging that her husband Mohammed Sanaullah Qureshi aka Salman had taken 10 kg of gold from her and had fled with it.
The police rounded up two brothers of Salman as part of the investigation, after which their father has come out with a shocking revelation that Salman had brought more than 200 kg gold from Dubai and the 10 Kg gold was his commission.
It is not yet clear if the gold was smuggled into the country illegally or was imported through legal means.
Earlier, Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches on the properties of the Heera Group at Toli Chowki.
The CCS police is also probing a cheating case against the company following a complaint from Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
Anwar Ullah Qureshi, the father-in-law of Nowhera, alleged that Nowhera was harassing his son and family as he demanded his commission.
“My son brought over 200 kg gold from Dubai. The 10 kg was his commission and he took it. Now she has made false allegations against him and is using the police to harass us. Cops picked up my two sons without any reason and are torturing them,” said Qureshi.
Meanwhile, Golconda police denied the allegations and said that an investigation is going on. "We have booked a case of extortion and criminal intimidation against Salman. He had allegedly threatened Nowhera for taking the name of their five-year-old child,” said inspector Syed Fayaz.
Meanwhile, neither the police nor Nowhera’s father-in-law are aware how the 200 kg gold was brought to India. For the 10 kg gold, the complainant has submitted bills at the police station, officials said.
“We have informed the concerned authorities regarding this huge gold transaction. Unless an inquiry is completed, we cannot say how this much gold was brought,” said the inspector.
Heera group has jewellery business in India and also have other businesses including educational institutions.
Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi had lodged a complaint against the group for cheating hundreds of investors and CCS is still investigating the case.
On Saturday investors protested in front of the company office at Masab Tank.
