Hyderabad: The condition of Sanjana who was injured in an accident in Hayathnagar on Monday continues to be critical. Doctors performed a surgery on her left leg on Thursday. Her mother Sridevi was also injured in the mishap.
Meanwhile, Sanjana’s father Shivanand demanded cancellation of the bail granted to the three responsible for the accident. Sridevi, who is recovering, is not aware of her daughter’s condition.
Sanjana underwent a surgery for hip fracture on Thursday morning, and she is on ventilator support.
Dr Prasad Rao, chief medical superintendent said, “The condition of the child is critical.” But her mother Sridevi, who was also injured, is out of danger.
Sanjana’s father Shivanand said that despite clear evidence that the three were heavily drunk and were responsible for the accident they were granted bail. “They should be dealt with harshly. What is the message the law is trying to give by granting them bail? Is it that they can drink and kill? We will fight till justice is done,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police who retrieved a water bottle containing alcohol from the vehicle, could not produce any technical evidence against the suspects B.N. Venkata Rama, a software engineer, and his two friends. This enabled them to easily secure bail. “We produced them in court with the evidence available but the judge decided to grant them bail,” police officials said.
