CRIME FILES: Hyderabad Police Arrest 2 Chain Snatchers Recover Gold Worth Rs 22 Lakh

The horrific incident took place in the village of Dhodhar under Ratlam district late on Saturday.

 Hyderabad: The east zone task force and Amberpet police on Saturday arrested Kurakula Rohit, 21, an autorickshaw driver, and Golusula Alikesh, both from Siddipet district, for snatching chains and recovered 29.7 grams of gold and a bike, all worth Rs 22 lakh. They were Class 9 dropouts and were suspected in three cases in Rajendranagar and Ameerpet, They were arrested in Mailardevpally. They were previously arrested for ganja peddling, task force additional DCP A.V.R.Narasimha Rao said.

 Police Seize Rs 20 Lakh from Car During Road Check in Hyderabad:

IS Sadan police seized Rs 20 lakh from one Vittal who was travelling in a car at DMRL crossroads, during a road check recently. There were four persons in the car, and Vittal could not provide documentation for the cash. He claimed it was his money and meant to purchase a plot of land. The others in the car were identified as Nagaraju, Srikanth Reddy, and Venkatesh.

Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Two Drug Peddlers, Seizure of 40 kg of Ganja:

In a joint operation, the Railway Protection Force, Crime Intelligence Branch of the SCR Secunderabad division and excise officials arrested two peddlers, one of them a woman, and seized 40 kg ganja from them.

Debashmita Chattopadhyay Banerjee, senior divisional security commissioner, Secunderabad, said the duo, arrested under ‘Operation Narcos’ were Odisha natives Titupalai, 40, and Renu Samal, 41, who were travelling between Khammam and Warangal.

Under ‘Operation Satark,’ they recovered 800 kg black jaggery and 100 kg of ingredients used to make country-made liquor in a general coach of Train 16094 Lucknow-Chennai Express between Ramagundam and Warangal.

In another incident, a bag with 10 kg dry ganja was recovered on Platform 2 of the Warangal railway station, she said.

Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Two College Students in Keesara Village

Two degree college students, one of them a girl, died and three others injured after their car hit a roadside tree in Keesara village at about 4.30 am on Saturday. All of them were 19 years old and were heading out for a long drive.

Kesera police said the accident occurred when G. Philips, car owner and driver, lost control of the vehicle which veered to the left and hit the tree.

The victims were identified as M. Tanuja and P. Bhavesh, residents of Alwal. Philips,  Rubin Joseph and L. Hari Priya survived with injuries. They were treated as out-patients at a private hospital at Keesara.

They had left home at 2.30 am after informing their parents that they are going for a long drive, Keesara inspector K. Venkataiah said.

Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against Philips and shifted the victims' bodies to the Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.

Loan Repayment Dispute Turns Deadly, Gang Murders Scrap Dealer in Brutal Attack

A gang chased and murdered a 23-year-old man, P. Ramchander, a scrap dealer, who was asking for repayment of his loan, Abdullapurmet police said. His cousin M. Venkatesh was injured.

Police said the duo was drinking liquor at a liquor shop in Batasingaram at about 6 pm on Friday, when they were attacked by T. Srisailam, J. Dasrath and G. Linga Swami.

The duo escaped and fled on a two-wheeler. When they reached a godown in Abdullapurmet, the attackers who were following them in an autorickshaw rammed it into the victim’s vehicle.

Ramchander suffered a head injury and died on the spot while Venkatesh, suffered a fracture on his right leg, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Police said the accused tried to make it appear as a road accident but Venkatesh told them about the assault. Police said that under questioning, Srisailam confessed that he had borrowed money from Ramchander who was pressuring him to return it.

BSc Nursing Student Turned Burglar Nabbed, Loot Worth Rs 17 Lakh Recovered

In a joint operation, the southeast task force and Bandlaguda police arrested man for three house burglaries on Saturday and recovered Rs 17 lakh worth loot at his instance. The accused, Sultan Syeed Ahmed Hilal, 22, is a BSc Nursing student, used to strike at locked houses, police said. Police traced him using CCTV camera footage, a statement said.

16-Year-Old Bihar Girl Brutally Gang Rape in Hyderabad, Four Arrested

The Ibrahimpatnam police arrested four persons for raping a 16-year-old girl from Bihar who had come to city in search of job, in Laxmi Township on Friday.

The victim said in her complaint to the police that 10 days back she had called her friend living in the city for a job. The friend agreed to help and she travelled to the city on Friday. He picked her up from the Secunderabad station and took her to his house.

He asked his roommates Nandu Chandan Kumar, 24, and Chandan Kumar, 20, to leave. At about 11.30 pm the duo returned with two others, Sembhu Malah, 31, and Satyendra Bind alias Mallu, 22, got the minor’s friend to open the door and pushed him aside, They locked the door from inside and assaulted the victim.

After requesting them to leave the girl alone, the friend called the police at 2 am. The police went to the spot and rescued the victim. The four managed to escape by that time. Police sent the victim to a medical test and counselling. The accused who were arrested on Saturday were subjected to a potency test at the Osmania General Hospital. The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Woman kills 11-year-old daughter, later dies by suicide

A 36-year-old caretaker apparently killed her 11 year old daughter and died by suicide after her live-in partner refused to marry her. The bodies of G. Mahalakshmi and her daughter were found at their house in Maruthinagar, IS Sadan police limits.

Police said Mahalakshmi had separated from her husband Narsimha six months back, and was living with Talari Srinivas along with her two sons and a daughter. For three weeks, was insisting that Srinivas marry her but he kept putting it off. This may have led to the suicide, police said and registered a case of abetment to suicide against Srinivas.
