One more RSS worker held for Faisal murder
An all-party meet has decided to hold a protest march to the CI office, Tirurangadi, on Wednesday.
Malappuram: Amid local ire on the delay in the arrest of the already identified men in connection with the murder of Muslim convert Pullani Faisal in Kodinhi, the police have arrested one more RSS worker on Tuesday. Prajeesh Babu was taken into custody by the investigation team from Tirur and brought to the Tirurangadi Police station on Tuesday. According to police, Babu was one of the gang members who hacked Faisal to death. According to sources, the police have already taken a few more RSS workers into custody and their arrest will be registered soon. The police have refused to divulge more details of the arrested and the others as all are to be produced for a procedural identification parade to confirm their identity.
Eight RSS workers including the brother-in-law and cousin of Faisal had been arrested last week by the police for conspiring with and providing help to the gang who executed the murder in an attempt to prevent Faisal from converting his family members. His mother Meenakshi had recently embraced Islam after Faisal’s death and changed her name to Jameela. Meanwhile an all party meet has decided to hold a protest march to the Office of the Circle Inspector, Tirurangadi on Wednesday. 32-year-old Faisal, who embraced Islam in May, was allegedly hacked to death on the streets in Kodinhi Farook Nagar in the early hours of November 19, a day before his planned return to Saudi Arabia where he was working as a driver for the past five years.
