Hyderabad: The GHMC on Saturday registered criminal cases against 15 persons who had violated its ban on putting up flexboards and posters. The civic body has been implementing the rule against defacing public property from January 1, and imposed penalty on a few violators. On Saturday, it began lodging complaints with police.
Six cases each were registered with SR Nagar and KPHB police, followed by Market (1), Kukatpally police (1). A fifteenth case was booked with another police station. The GHMC said it would impose penalty of Rs 1,000 for wall writing, Rs 2,000 for pasting pos-ters and Rs 5,000 for putting up banners and cut-outs. Those who violate the rule repeatedly would face criminal cases.
