Bengaluru: Doctor injects self an overdose of anaesthetic
The police said that Dr Sindhu was depressed and was staying away from her family for the last few months.
Bengaluru: A 31-year-old woman doctor committed suicide by injecting herself an anaesthetic on Sunday afternoon in Basaveshwarnagar police limits.
The deceased, Dr Sindhu, hailed from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and was a resident of Basaveshwarnagar. She was married in 2014 and has a one-year-old son. She was a dermatologist at a private hospital and had taken a break for some time.
The police said that Dr Sindhu was depressed and was staying away from her family for the last few months. She was undergoing counselling for her depression. Around 1 pm on Sunday, her maid came to the house, found her dead in the bedroom and alerted the police.
The Basaveshwaranagar police rushed to the spot and investigated the scene. They have not yet found a suicide note from her house. Prima facie, it was revealed that she had taken an overdose of an anaesthesia drug. The Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
