Five Years Jail for Guard Under POCSO Act

Hyderabad: The fast-track special judge for expeditious trial and disposal of rape cases under the POCSO Act on Monday sentenced five years imprisonment to a 40-year-old security guard after he was found guilty in a 2022 case.

Syed Wash, a resident of Sadathnagar, Balapur, was arrested by Balapur police and remanded for sexual harassment.

Apart from conviction, the court also imposed a fine of Rs.15,000 on him and awarded Rs. 1 lakh in compensation to the victim, said a press release from Rachakonda police.
