Vijayawada: Man attacks mother with knife, commits suicide

GUNTUR: A man attacked his mother with a knife for refusing to give him money at Nallamotuvaripalem in Karlapalem mandal on Tuesday evening and committed suicide out of fear. Bellamkonda Anjibabu, 25, addicted to alcohol, has been bothering his mother Somamma, 52, for money since morning. As she refused to give money, he attacked her with a knife on her neck and shoulder. His father Ramaiah was out for work at the time of the incident.

Shocked with the attack, Somamma shouted for help and the neighbours rushed to the house and rescued her. Anjibabu’s wife Nagamani who was at home at the time incident, tried to stop him but he even attacked her cutting her hands. The neighbours immediately took both to Bapatla area hospital. After everyone has left the hospital, Anjibabu committed suicide at his house by hanging himself to the fan. Neighbours observed him hanging to the fan and informed the police. Karlapalem police have registered a case and sent the body to Bapatla area hospital for post-mortem. Somamma received seve-re injuries on her neck. Doctors have said that her condition was stable.
