Gang cheat people promising hidden treasure
The gang led by Nasik Chohan Maharaj of Yavatmal cheated Kamalakar by promising to unearth gold buried in the soil in his house
ADILABAD: The Wankidi police arrested a gang that cheated people on the promise of unearthing treasure in their house premises, following a complaint lodged by one Chatari Kamalakar of Ghatjanagam of Wankidi mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on Monday.
According to SP K. Suresh Kumar, the gang led by Nasik Chohan Maharaj of Yavatmal in Maharashtra cheated Kamalakar by promising to unearth gold buried in the soil in his house. The gang collected more than Rs 18 lakh from Kamalakar.
When he realised he was cheated, Kamalakar approached the police. The gang had fled the place by then, police said. Police launched a hunt for the gang, traced them and arrested them on the state borders and recovered the cash.
The accused were identified as Panjab Rao alias Nasik Chowhan Maharaj, Prakash, Babar Bikkaji, Roshan.
