TIRUPATI: Thottembedu tahsildar has been reportedly placed under suspension for illegally issuing patta to a private party for two pieces of lands, which were notified as 'Kalava Poramboke' in CNR Kandriga revenue village of Thottambedu mandal.

According to sources, the suspended official had allegedly changed the Kalava Poramboke land to Patta land in revenue records and issued patta for the 2.58 acres in survey no. 52 and 1.44 acres in survey no. 53 in the name of private parties - Gangalapudi Sukesh, SK Hameed Basha and Y. Prasad. Following these allegations, Tahsildar Parameswara Swamy was reportedly placed under suspension on Monday by district collector M. Hari Narayanan for the illegal act.

The suspension comes nearly 10 days after the sleuths of ACB, Tirupati led by DSP Sankar Reddy conducted raids on the Tahsildar office on February 25 and 26 following the allegations on the illegal issuance of patta of government land to private parties. The Collector learnt to have appointed Srikalahasti Tahsildar Zareena Begum as in-charge Tahsildar of Thottembedu mandal. Sources said that the collector also ordered for a detailed probe to unearth the involvement of other revenue officials in the illegal episode.
