Realtor held for cheating
When the woman asked him to repay the money he started sending vulgar messages and threatened her, the police said.
Hyderabad: A Vizag-based realtor who cheated an NRI housewife and took Rs 5 lakh from her was arrested on Friday. Nannapaneni Raja, 35, took the money from N. Anupama Reddy promising to clear it in a year. When the woman asked him to repay the money he started sending vulgar messages and threatened her, the police said.
Police said Raja met Ms Anupama two years ago through a real estate deal. He borrowed Rs 5 lakh from her saying that he will repay it in a year but did not return the money even after two years.
Meanwhile, Anupama went abroad and returned eight months ago. She asked Raja to repay the loan. "He did not return the money and also started threatening her. He also sent vulgar messages to her when she asked him to repay the money," Petbasheerabad SI Srinath said.Nannapaneni was arrested and remanded on Friday.
