Hyderabad: Head constable G. Paul of Mailardevpally police station was booked for allegedly raping a 30-year-old housewife on Tuesday. Inspector P. Jagadeeshwar said the 30-year-old woman married an autorickshaw driver in 2009 and has three sons.
“She was facing domestic abuse and had lodged a complaint against her husband. We counselled the couple but the man said that she keeps going to many places without informing him,” said Manikyam, a policeman. “Later, a missing case was registered by the husband against his wife about a month ago. It was then the head constable and the woman met. She says he came to her house and raped her,” Manikyam said.
However, Paul claims that nothing like that happened and that she was framing him. Based on the woman's complaint, Mailardevpally police booked a case under Section 376 (rape).
