Juveniles escape, commit offence, held
Police recovered stolen property worth Rs 14 lakh from their possession.
Hyderabad: Two of the 15 juveniles who escaped from the government-run observation home at Saidabad around a month ago, were nabbed by the Rachakonda Police at Hayathnagar on Thursday.
The boys, along with three others who escaped from home were involved in various property offences including one at Saidabad after they escaped.
Police recovered stolen property worth Rs 14 lakh from their possession. Earlier, two other boys were nabbed by the Rajendranagar police for their role in bike theft. Out of 15 boys who escaped eight returned to the home. DCP LB nagar M. Venkateswar Rao said that the boys were involved in various offences in the past and hence were lodged there.
After that, they committed property offences in Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Nalgonda district. The Hayathnagar crime team found the boys at Information Colony and apprehended them. On enquiry, they confessed to committing six offences.
Gold jewellery, silver, three bikes, one car and electronic gadgets, all worth Rs 14 lakh were recovered from them. They were produced before the Juvenile justice board on Thursday.
