Anti Corruption Bureau unearths Rs10-crore from mines babu
Assets worth Rs 3.6 crore as per document value were unearthed during the searches.
Hyderabad:The Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 10 crore after raiding the house of a senior official of the mines and geology department in Suryapet district.
Based on a tip-off, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against G. Sudhakar Reddy, assistant director of the department in Suryapet district, and conducted simultaneous searches at his and his relatives‘ houses in different parts of the state.
During the searches, it came to light that the official had acquired properties in the names of his family members, relatives and benamis that included six open plots, 63 acres of agriculture land, a new house, investment of Rs 82 lakh in a liquor shop, bank balance of 12 lakh, insurance policies of Rs 10 lakh, half-a-kg of gold, 3.5 kg silver, investments of Rs 30 lakh in two granite factories, a four wheeler and a two-wheeler, ACB officials said.
“Assets worth Rs 3.6 crore as per document value were unearthed during the searches. The open market value of the properties is approximately Rs 10 crore,” a senior officer said. Sudhakar Reddy was arrested by the ACB officials following the raids.
