Bengaluru: Two men were murdered in separate incidents in Banasawadi and Cottonpet police limits since Friday evening. A 35-year-old hotel worker was stabbed to death by 3 bike-borne assailants on Kacharakanahalli Road in Banasawadi police limits late on Friday night.

The deceased, Sanjay Tamang, hailed from Meghalaya. He was working at a restaurant on Nehru Road at Kacharakanahalli and was staying near Kammanahalli Church with other workers.

Sanjay did not return to the room till 2 am and the other workers informed the hotel owner, who asked them to go and check near the hotel. When they went there, they found Sanjay lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

“According to an eyewitness, three men on a scooter stabbed Sanjay with a knife and then attacked him with stones. The reason for the murder is being investigated. Preliminary probe revealed that Sanjay had a fight with some people near the hotel around 9 pm and that could have led to the murder,” the police said.

“Sanjay was a divorcee and had come to the city just four months ago. His parents and two siblings stay in Meghalaya,” the Banasawadi police, who have registered a murder case, said.

In the incident reported in Cottonpet police station limits, Ajith, 19, a resident of Flower Garden in Cottonpet and a daily wager, was stabbed to death by his friends. The police said that Ajith had fought with his friends over a trivial issue on Friday morning. Following a heated argument, his friends allegedly stabbed him in his thigh. He was admitted to Victoria Hospital, where he succumbed in the evening.
