I have nothing to do with drugs, says San Marine boss
San Marine MD Ahmed Alisha Sheik told police that he is running a business that provides naval-based logistic support' to ONGC, Reliance
KAKINADA: The managing director of San Marine Ahmed Alisha Sheik, who is in the news for drug trafficking, submitted a petition to the superintendent of police, urging him to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
He met the SP, M. Ravindranath on Thursday and said that he is running a business that provides ‘naval-based logistic support’ to ONGC and Reliance and is not into any export and import handlings in the port. However, some political leaders, in particular those from the Telugu Desam, some satellite news channels and social media platforms are dragging him unnecessarily into the drug-trafficking racket and ruining his image and that of the company. He made it clear that he had no relations with the accused M.Sudhakar.
“San Marine has been appreciated by the state and Union governments for services to the nation in supplying logistics support to International Fleet Review (IFR-2016) at Visakhapatnam and Operation Malabar’ at Chennai Coast. This campaign of vendetta connecting me and my company with the drugs case is condemnable,’’ he said in his representation.
He blamed TD leaders Varla Ramaiah, D. Narendra, and K. Pattabhi for the malicious campaign.
