Hyderabad: A woman was killed and her husband sustained critical injuries after they were pushed down from the second floor of a building by their relatives following a property dispute on Monday night at IDH Colony in Bansilalpet near Gandhinagar.
Jayashree, 35, and her husband N. Chandu, 40, were rushed to Gandhi Hospital by locals. Jayashree succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
According to the police the incident occurred after 9.30 pm when the couple came to their relative’s house to discuss property matters.
“We have identified four suspects so far. All of them, Meerabai, Keerthi, Bablu and another person, are close kin of victims," said Gandhinagar police inspector S. Sanjeeva Rao. Police said that there has been a dispute among the sisters and brothers about the ownership of two flats in the colony.
“We are still verifying if the property has been partitioned and who is the legal owner,” said the Inspector. Police has booked a case for murder and attempt-to-murder against the four people, who have been taken into custody. Locals said they saw the two parties squabbling loudly before the four residents pushed down the couple.
