According to the police, the couple reportedly eloped on November 3, and checked into the Trilok Lodge on Monday morning
Tirupati: A married woman and her boyfriend ended their lives by suicide at a private hotel room on the North Mada street of the Tirupati’s Govindaraja Swamy temple. The deceased have been identified as Anusha, a Kovvuru native in her early twenties, and Krishna Rao, 21, hailing from Hyderabad.
According to East SI Nagendra Babu, the couple reportedly eloped on November 3, and checked into the Trilok Lodge on Monday morning. They were scheduled to check out on Tuesday morning, but were found hanging from the ceiling fan.
"Since the couple did not leave their room, the lodge staff went to check on them in the morning, and discovered the bodies of the duo hanging from the ceiling through the room ventilation window. They immediately informed the police of the matter," the SI said.
After inquiring about the girl’s relatives, SI Babu stated that the woman got reportedly married against her will two years ago to one Posi Babu by her parents, because her boyfriend is from a different caste. It is suspected that the couple took the extreme step because they firmly believed their family members would not accept their desire to live together, the SI said.
