Tattoos link grisly Delhi murders
Three mutilated bodies have been found in a 10-kilometre radius in south Delhi over the last fortnight.
NEW DELHI: The tattoos on the bodies of three women helped Delhi police to identify the victims and accused involved in killing of women in the city.
Three mutilated bodies have been found in a 10-kilometre radius in south Delhi over the last fortnight. The modus operandi seems similar — the bodies were mutilated, hacked and dumped in drains or street corners. In each case, police believe the murder was carried out far from the spot where the body was recovered. The bodies were either naked or dressed only in undergarments.
A senior police official told that after questioning more than 50 tattoo artists in the city, they got clue about the identity of bodies. “We have identified two bodies that were found under Vasant Vihar police station. The family members have identified the bodies. With the help of family members, police have managed to identify people in touch with victims,” said a senior police official.
Police told that one of the women had tattooed ‘spider’ on the lower back of the body while the other women had tattooed ‘flower’ on her hands. Both the tattoos were found recently tattooed on their bodies.
During investigation it has been found that the girls were allegedly part of online portal provides escort services in South Delhi. They had monetary dispute with their masters that might have led to their brutal murder.
“It has been found that both the girls were from North-Eastern states. Their master was not paying promised amount to the victims for their services despite charging huge some from clients. It led to the dispute that might have ended with their murders,” added a senior police official.
“It has been established that a gang operating escort services is involved in the killings. Several police teams have raiding several hideouts of gang members to nab the accused,” said a senior police official.
