Kakinada: District collector K. Madhavi Latha is determined to clamp down on the illegal practice of cockfights, vowing to protect roosters from the barbaric ritual.

Latha has issued clear instructions: no cockfights will be tolerated during Sankranti. Officials across the district are mobilized to crack down on any sign of preparation or activity related to this illegal practice.

Regular reports, directly to the collector, will ensure transparency and accountability, leaving no room for clandestine cockfighting rings.

Property owners harbouring any such activity face a stark warning: their sites will be identified and declared off-limits for cockfights.
