Male Students Sexually Exploited by Father in a Boys' Hostel Case Registered Against

Bhubaneswar: An allegation of sexual exploitation of male students at a boys’ hostel of school in Odisha’s Sundergarh district has come to the fore after a police complaint in this regard was lodged on Monday by the parents of the children.

The parents alleged that their wards were being sexually exploited in the hostel by the father of the school located at Kutra. On being informed, the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) lodged a police complaint in this regard.

Report last came in said the police registered a case and started an investigation into the allegation. Police got as many as eight students medically examined. Police said the accused will be arrested soon.

The DCPO said, “The father concerned has sexually assaulted a group of seven to eight students. I have recorded the statements of the victims. Besides, the decision taken by the school management committee and the complaints of the villagers have been attached in the report. The villagers had first complained about it before the district education officer. The district child protection unit and the district child welfare committee have looked into the matter. A police complaint was lodged in this regard.”  

Rajgangpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Abhisekh Panigrahi said, “It is a sensitive case. The case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The accused will be arrested soon.”
