Hyderabad: Advocate files false complaint to avoid loan EMI

Police said he did this to avoid repaying Clix Finance and to claim insurance.

Hyderabad: The police arrested a 27-year-old advocate for allegedly lodging a false complaint stating that his SUV was stolen to avoid repaying a loan to a finance firm. Police said Syed Rahamatullah had purchased a second-hand SUV (AP03 AZ 0001) three years ago and was paying the EMI for some time to Axis Bank, Ranigunj. ACP T. Srini-vas Reddy said Raham-atullah borrowed Rs 12 lakh last year from Clix Finance India Unlimit-ed, Banjara Hills, and cleared the Axis Bank loan. He painted the SUV in a different colo-ur, changed the registration number, parked the vehicle at his native village in Sangareddy district and lodged a complaint with the Abids police that the SUV was stolen. Police said he did this to avoid repaying Clix Finance and to claim insurance. Inspector V. Lachiram of the CCS-DD  raided the house, recovered the SUV and arrested Rahamatullah.
