Hyderabad: Two walked away with approximately Rs 60,000 from a branch of Western Union in Kanchanbagh by diverting the attention of an employee while pretending to exchange notes.
The duo approached the Hafeezbabanagar branch of the money transfer company, well groomed and dressed in suits. "The manager, Syed Khalid, attended to the two men who requested to exchange Rs 500 notes with Rs 2,000 ones. As the manager pulled out the cash drawer while helping them, they snuck out as many notes as they could and fled the place," Kanchanbagh inspector N. Shankar said. One of them even said that he wanted to exchange dollars for rupees, police said.
About half an hour after they left, the manager noticed some notes missing. He filed a complaint.
