Bengaluru: The Kengeri police, who are probing the murder case in which a highly decomposed body of a woman was found in a cupboard, have found out that the deceased was the elder woman in the family aged around 75 years and suspect that she was murdered by her daughter and grandson over a family dispute.

A police team has been sent to Shivamogga as the family hailed from there.  Investigations revealed that the deceased was Shanthamma. “She was living with her daughter Sashikala and grandson Sanjay. Shanthamma had sold a residential plot in Avalahallirecently. It had led to a dispute among family members. Her daughter Sashikala, who has a son and daughter, was a divorcee. Her son Sanjay lived with her, while her daughter is living with the father. Sashikala used to blame her mother for spoiling her life,” an officer said.

The police are yet to know the exact reason that triggered the murder. “We are still gathering details about the family so that we could get the reason for the murder. We are focusing on nabbing the accused persons and we will get a clarity only after we find the absconding mother and son,” the official added.
