Nanded Man Arrested For Murder Of Wife, Brother-In-Law In Tirupati Hotel
Tirupati: The Tirupati police arrested a middle-aged man from Maharashtra, Narvadi Yuvaraj, on Monday following a double murder at a hotel in Tirupati on Friday night.
The victims, his wife Manisha (25) and brother-in-law Harshavardhan (27), met a tragic end during their family pilgrimage to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara. Property issues led to the murders, police said.
According to police, the accused was a resident of Nanded district of Maharashtra and arrived in Tirupati on October 5, accompanied by his wife, two children aged six and four years and his brother-in-law. The family had checked into a private hotel near Kapila Theertham.
Around 2 am, Yuvaraj allegedly stabbed his wife and brother-in-law. Hotel staff noticed him leaving the premises with blood-stained clothes and informed the Alipiri police.
A police team arrived on the scene, took statements from witnesses, collected evidence, and launched an investigation that led to Yuvaraj's arrest on Monday.
Police said there was tension within the family over property matters. "The accused, who worked as a mason, had recently sold a property for '40 lakh and spent the money for his extravagant lifestyle. His wife and brother-in-law resented this.”
Yuvaraj organised a Tirumala pilgrimage and brought his wife, children and brother-in-law with him to Tirupati. They checked into a hotel room near Kapila Theertham. Late at night, he knifed them to death.
Yuvaraj was placed in police remand while the two children were handed over to their relatives.
