The organisers had not taken police permission to conduct the programme where they had called dancers.
HYDERABAD: Seven persons were booked for recording dances at an event at Indira Gandhi crossroads in Alwal on Wednesday night.
According to Alwal inspector M, Mattaiah, an entertainment programme was organised to celebrate Sadar Utsav by one Venkatesh Goud, Narsing Yadav, Narayana and four others.
The organisers had not taken police permission to conduct the programme where they had called dancers. Videos of the dance performances by the women went viral on Friday morning.
The inspector said, "The dances were not obscene. But the organisers did not take police permission and also used sound systems. A case has been registered against the seven persons under Section 188 of IPC, and Sections 21, 76 and 71 (A) of CP Act for the probe."
In another incident at Chaitanyapuri, TRS Kothapet member Thota Mahesh Yadav was booked under Section 188 of the IPC for using drone cameras during a rally organised on the occasion of Sadar Utsav on Thursday night.
Chaitanyapuri police said Mr Yadav took permission to organise the rally, but not for using a drone camera. A case has been registered against him and the camera owner. Further probe is on, said the police.
In yet another instance at Ibrahimpatnam, a case was booked against two persons, Ilaiah and Pandu, for using sound systems during Sadar Utsav procession at Ramdaspalli. The police have seized the equipment and are investigating the case.
