In a video conference, DGP M. Mahendar Reddy urged superintendents of police (SPs) and senior officials to work toward a higher conviction rate by providing bonafide evidence and related documented evidence before the courts in coordination with public prosecutors and investigating officers.

A senior police officer said that they had introduced a court-duty monitoring system functional vertical in all districts and commissionerates to keep track of the cases and submit properly documented evidence.

"We are committed to completing investigations in 80 per cent of cases registered across all police stations. We subsequently focus on convictions by providing proper training to legal experts and court duty staff of each police station during 2022," sources said.

As per the court duties monitoring system, the investigation officer and legal experts conduct meetings with senior officers in cases that are chargesheeted. Regular monitoring of the victims and witnesses has given good results to the police in getting the conviction rates in the state.
