New Delhi: A HDFC manager decided to end his affair with a woman in a brutal manner when she found out that he was already married and threatened to tell his wife about them. The man identified as Naveen Kumar, repeatedly smashed his lover’s head against a pavement in Mongolpuri area in outer Delhi, according to a report.

28-year-old Punya Sagar, who was also an employee with HDFC life insurance, had an affair with the 32-year-old Naveen Kumar, but was unaware that he was already married and was also a father. His marriage came as a rude shock to her and she began threatening Naveen that she would go to his house and reveal their relations to his wife.

The HDFC manager then hatched a plan to get rid of her and convinced Punya to go out on a drive with him on March 3. According to police, Naveen told her he would ‘settle’ the matter and then killed her.

Naveen held Punya by the neck and repeatedly smashed her head against a pavement, until she was grievously injured and there was little chance of recovery. He then took her to a hospital in his car and told the staff that she had met with an accident.

However, unfortunately for Naveen, two men who were passing by the road, had seem him executing the murder. The eyewitnesses made a PCR call to report the crime, but by the time the police reached the spot, Naveen had already left the place.

The witnesses however followed Naveen’s car to Jaipur Golden Hospital and then informed the police about it. Following their account, a case was registered and Navin was arrested.

The police said they would reward the eyewitnesses for their inputs and help in the probe.
