Kannur: Four hurt in crude bomb hit

KANNUR: A youth was arrested for hurling a crude bomb against four persons at Kathirur on Wednesday evening. Police said they arrested Prabeesh, 30, of Kathirur. Four persons suffered injury in the attack. Two CPM supporters, Surendran and Vineesh were among those injured. Sreekumar, an employee at Thalasserry block panchayat office and Anilkumar are the two others injured.

Police said that Prabeesh had committed the crime in an enbriated condition. He is an RSS worker, but the incident is not politically motivated, said Kathirur Station House Officer Sukesh. S. Prabeesh has five other police cases against him. He has been produced at the Thalasserry Chief Judicial Magistrate court and remanded to custody.
