Hyderabad: RTC buses in two more deaths

Woman, jawan latest to die in crashes involving buses.

A case of death due to negligence has been registered and Singh's body was shifted for postmortem.

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old woman and a 40-year-old Army soldier were killed in accidents involving RTC buses on Saturday. The woman, who is yet to be identified, was crossing the road in Bowenpally when she was hit by the bus at around 3.30 am.

“An RTC bus bearing the registration AP 16Z 0017 hit her,” Bowenpally sub-inspector B. Srinivasulu said. The body has been shifted to the morgue and cops are investigating.

Meanwhile,  Army soldier Yasbeer Singh was hit by an RTC bus at Bolarum. He died on the spot. Bolarum additional inspector K. Sattaiah said Singh, 40, was attached to a battalion stationed at Bolarum. He was geteting ready to go to Jammu and Kashmir within a few days.

"But on Saturday evening, as Singh was riding his bike a city bus from the Medchal depot going towards  Secunderabad hit him killing him on the spot,” Mr Sattaiah said.

A case of death due to negligence has been registered and Singh’s body was shifted for postmortem. The driver and conductor of the bus fled the scene after the accident. The accident that killed Singh is the fourth incident in which RTC buses have killed motorists in the city within a month.

 On March 21, a GHMC sanitation employee was killed when an RTC bus ran over her in Amberpet area and on March 22, a business consultant was killed when an iron rod from another bus hit the bus he was travelling in - piercing  his throat, at Lakdikapul.
