Six families forced to stay on agri land to protect it
The families alleged that some realtors were pressurising them to sell their plots of land to them
ADILABAD: Six families have left their homes in the village and are staying in tents on an agricultural field despite the extreme hot weather in a bid to protect the land from realtors who are allegedly backed by TRS leaders, in Buddulakonda-Rajula Tanda of Neredigonda mandal in Adilabad district.
The families alleged that some realtors were pressurising them to sell their plots of land to them. The families alleged that the land belonged to one Devi Singh and his family and they had been cultivating the agriculture land for years. They alleged that they TRS leaders had threatened that they would kill them if they did not vacate the land.
The families named upa-sarpanch Jagdish Rabade and his brother Omkar and 15 others; they wanted the land to develop it as commercial ventures. The families alleged that the local police was not responding to complaints.
Upa-sarpanch Rabade refuted the allegations and said land belonged to government. The families which had occupied the land had levelled baseless allegations against the TRS leaders, he claimed.
On Monday, local revenue officials visited the parcel of land and interacted with the families. The police promised to give the families protection.
